The 25-year-old, who has dropped down the rankings at White Hart Lane, has been linked with a move to the Britannia Stadium in recent weeks.

It is understood that Huddlestone has opted to join the Premier League outfit for the season on a temporary basis and is due to complete a medical today, according to Sky Sports News.

There were reports that Aston Villa were keen on the midfielder's services. However, it is believed that the Midlands club rejected the chance to sign the Spurs player.
