Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes expects to depart the club at the end of the season.

Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes has revealed that he wants to depart the club on a permanent basis at the end of the season.

The 32-year-old, who joined Spurs in 2008, is currently on loan at German club Hoffenheim after falling out of favour at White Hart Lane.

As it stands the Brazilian will return to the Premier League outfit in the summer, but Gomes has insisted that he wants to seek pastures new.

"I'm in no hurry and take the time to take the right decision. This is an important choice. But first I have to recover from my injury. Next season I want to be in top shape at a new club," Gomes told De Telegraaf.

"At PSV, I experienced the best time of my career. I've always said that I would return to PSV. Maybe that time is now.

"My contract at Tottenham Hotspur is only for one more year. I think Tottenham wants to contribute to my leaving now. At this stage of my career, money is not the most important thing. And I have something to offer. I have five or six good years ahead."

Gomes is currently nursing a broken hand.
