Kevin Bond: 'Rafael van der Vaart will not join Manchester United'

Tottenham Hotspur assistant boss Kevin Bond has poured cold water on speculation linking Dutch midfielder Rafael Van der Vaart with a move to Manchester United.

The former Ajax man, 28, has been linked with a move to the English champions in recent weeks, with United boss Sir Alex Ferguson said to be a keen admirer of his talents.

However, Bond told talkSPORT: "Really? That's news to me".

Van der Vaart has scored seven goals in 20 league appearances for Spurs this season.
