Atletico Madrid 'considering Christian Eriksen swoop'

Atletico Madrid identify Tottenham Hotspur attacker Christian Eriksen as a potential transfer target, according to a report.

Atletico Madrid have reportedly identified Tottenham Hotspur attacker Christian Eriksen as a potential target in this summer's transfer window.

Eriksen will see his Tottenham contract expire next summer, and Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino recently conceded that the Denmark international could move on ahead of the 2019-20 campaign.

Atletico are said to be in discussions with the Champions League finalists over a move for Kieran Trippier.

However, according to the London Evening Standard, Diego Simeone's side are also interested in landing Eriksen, who has scored 66 times and contributed 86 assists in 277 appearances for Tottenham.

Atletico have been active in this summer's transfer window, bringing the likes of Joao Felix, Marcos Llorente, Felipe and Renan Lodi to the Wanda Metropolitano.

The capital giants could ultimately be priced out of a move for Eriksen, though, with Tottenham said to value the former Ajax playmaker in the region of £130m despite having less than 12 months to run on his deal.
