Agent: 'Vlad Chiriches to Tottenham Hotspur nearly done'

Tottenham Hotspur have won the race to sign Steaua Bucuresti centre-back Vlad Chiriches, the player's agent has revealed.

The North London club have been chasing the 23-year-old along with Roma and AC Milan, but Ioan Becali claims that Spurs have now succeeded with a £7m bid.

"[Roma] have not raised their offer of £5.7m," he told Ilsussidiario.et. "Tottenham, however, are now up to £7m and have taken the player.

"It is at 99% - it only lacks the signature of the boy, who will arrive soon."

Chiriches will come in to replace Steven Caulker, who completed a move to Cardiff City yesterday.
