Emmanuel Adebayor happy at Tottenham Hotspur

Emmanuel Adebayor says that he is relishing the competition for first-team football at Tottenham Hotspur.

Emmanuel Adebayor has declared that he has no intention of leaving Tottenham Hotspur.

Competition for places at White Hart Lane is fierce following the summer arrivals of Roberto Soldado and Erik Lamela, but the Togo international is relishing the fight for first-team football.

"I decided with my manager, even before the start of the transfer window that I would not leave Tottenham and that's what I did," he told All Africa.com.

"I have never thought of leaving Spurs. I am here, my family feels great here and I do not see myself in another city."

Jermain Defoe is also in contention to lead the Spurs attack, but Adebayor went on to say that he is confident of holding down a place in the team's starting lineup.

"Today I will not tell you that I'm stronger than Soldado or Defoe or Lamela," he added.

"We now have four in the attack, I do not know who ranks first, second or third but I know at the end I will be the first and it is the most important."

Adebayor joined Spurs in 2012 following a stint with Manchester City.
