Tim Sherwood: 'Cardiff City are fighting for their lives'

Tottenham Hotspur manager Tim Sherwood believes that Cardiff City will be "fighting for their lives" when the two sides meet at White Hart Lane.

Tim Sherwood has said that Cardiff City will be "fighting for their lives" when they face Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League this weekend.

The Welsh side, who currently sit in the relegation zone, travel to White Hart Lane tomorrow afternoon.

The Spurs manager told the club's official website: "They are at the bottom of the league and they are fighting for their lives but we know they have mavericks on the pitch who can be match winners on their day. But if we play like we can, we'll win the game.

"Everyone will come here and expect a lot of goals, that we'll roll them over but it doesn't work like that. We have to go out there and match them for commitment and spirit first, then our quality will shine through. That's what I'll be telling the players.

"We have to work hard, do that, match them and then the quality shines through. It doesn't just happen."

Tottenham head into the match on the back of their Europa League win over Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk on Thursday.
