Tottenham Hotspur to contest extended ban for Mousa Dembele?

Spurs to fight Mousa Dembele ban?

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly planning to challenge elements of the Football Association's violent conduct charge given to Mousa Dembele.

The midfielder has accepted the charge and is facing a lengthy ban after appearing to eye gouge Chelsea striker Diego Costa during Monday night's 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge.

The English governing body has claimed that Dembele's actions warrant a longer ban than the three-match suspension usually handed out for violent conduct.

However, according to the Daily Mail, Spurs believe that the standard punishment is fair and will contest anything longer than a three-game ban.

Reports have claimed that the FA could impose a seven-match suspension on the Belgian.
