Roberto Soldado: 'Tottenham Hotspur need a win'

Tottenham Hotspur striker Roberto Soldado admits that the team need three points from their match against Southampton this weekend.

Roberto Soldado has admitted that Tottenham Hotspur "need a win" from their Premier League match against Southampton this weekend.

The Saints sit second in the table ahead of their trip to White Hart Lane, where they will face a Spurs side that have not won in their last four league outings.

The striker told the club's website: "I think they've shown that they can win against difficult teams and it's just been 'win, win, win' for them. They have won their last four matches in the Premier League and are through in the Capital One Cup.

"Their position in the league table is good but, after the 1-1 draw with Arsenal last weekend, we now need a win and three points.

"We had two difficult games against Southampton last season but we won both which was very good for the club. We hope we can achieve the same as last season and win against Southampton on Sunday. They are a big team and we need three points to help us get up the table."

Spurs shared a 1-1 draw with Besiktas in the Europa League on Thursday.
