Harry Redknapp has admitted that Tottenham Hotspur need “a miracle†in order to finish the season in the top four.
Spurs, currently sixth in the table, face fourth-placed Man City at Eastlands tonight. Speaking ahead of the game, Redknapp lauded the opposition’s prospects.
“Roberto Mancini has got a fantastic squad,†he said. “They’re in a great position. They are six points ahead of us and they have a better goal difference by miles.â€
With three games to play, the manager commented that “it will take a miracle†for Spurs to finish fourth.
Meanwhile, Mancini has expressed his confidence that the Blues will safely hang on to fourth place.
“I don’t think we have a problem for fourth spot,†the manager said. “We still have three games left and we only need three points.â€
If Man City do walk away victorious tonight, they will stand two points behind third-placed Arsenal. It would also guarantee them at least a qualifying place in next season’s Champions League.
