Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino: 'We have to focus on ourselves'

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino warns that his players cannot get caught up in the hype surrounding their Premier League fixture against Liverpool.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has called on his players to not be caught up in the attention surrounding their Premier League clash against Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp will take charge of his first match as manager of the Reds at White Hart Lane following his appointment last week.

Pochettino is adamant that his side have to focus on their task rather than the occasion brought by the arrival of the German to the English top flight.

The Argentine told the club's official website: "It's a big game but it always is in the Premier League. We need to forget about the past and try to develop our game. I think that we have the possibility to win the game and we believe in the way that we play.

"Liverpool are coming with a different manager, a different style, different ideas but the most important thing is how we take the game.

"We need to be focused on our job and try to deliver. We need to start the game very aggressively and be very focused on our job with no special attention on how they want to play."

Pochettino was named Premier League Manager of the Month for his side's displays in September.
