Mauricio Pochettino hails Tottenham Hotspur response

Mauricio Pochettino praises his Tottenham Hotspur side after they recovered from League Cup disappointment to beat Swansea City 3-2.

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Mauricio Pochettino has praised his side for responding to League Cup disappointment by beating Swansea City 3-2 at White Hart Lane.

Spurs slipped to a 2-0 defeat to Chelsea at Wembley on Sunday, and Pochettino believes that the squad showed good character to keep their top-four hopes alive with a win over Swansea.

"I'm proud for our players because after Sunday it was difficult," the Argentine told reporters. "That was a big hit for us, but today the answer was good.

"I'm happy with the performance, it was fantastic. It was 3-2 but we had lots of shots and had more than 60% possession - only in the last minute did we put risk in the game."

Spurs travel to Loftus Road to meet Queens Park Rangers on Saturday afternoon.
