Hugo Lloris: 'Tottenham Hotspur need time'

Spurs goalkeeper Hugo Lloris calls on supporters to remain patient with the team following their indifferent start to the new season.

Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has urged fans to be patient with the team following their indifferent start to the season.

Spurs are currently in ninth place in the Premier League table after taking seven points from their opening five games of the campaign.

While admitting that he and his teammates need to turn their fortunes around quickly, Lloris hopes that the squad will be given time to gel.

"I think we need time," the French international told reporters. "I think it is important that there is confidence between players and manager and staff and we are still learning and trying to improve.

"I am sure we will be ready in a few months, but it is strange to say we will be ready in a few months because we need to get points very quickly because the season has started and we have ambition and we need the most points possible."

Tottenham return to action this evening when they travel to local rivals Arsenal in the Premier League.
