Erik Lamela: 'I need time to settle'

Tottenham Hotspur winger Erik Lamela insists that he still requires time to settle in at White Hart Lane after a summer move from Roma.

Tottenham Hotspur winger Erik Lamela has pleaded for patience as he continues to look for his best form at White Hart Lane.

Lamela has struggled since leaving Roma to move to Spurs during the summer, but the Argentine believes that he will be able to show that he is well-suited to English football once he has played more games.

The 21-year-old told Sky Sports News: "I feel good here, although getting used to life here in every sense is a completely different thing. I've barely been here two months, so time is maybe what I need.

"I need training, a bit of rhythm, some games. English football is very different from the game in Italy - much more physical, whereas Serie A is more tactical.

"It's not necessarily more difficult, but it's just different. This is a style of football that I like very much, though, and I think that, with the way I play, it will be very suited to my game."

Lamela has yet to start a Premier League fixture for his new club.
