Tom Huddlestone to undergo ankle surgery

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tom Huddlestone is to undergo ankle surgery on Monday, the club have confirmed.

The 24-year-old has been limited to only five appearances this season, the last coming in Spurs' 5-1 home defeat to Manchester City in August.

"He needs another operation," said manager Harry Redknapp. "He's already had one but there is still a problem with him. It's a blow. He will be out for a while."

The White Hart Lane club, who are currently sixth in the Premier League, take a trip to Newcastle United after the international break.
