Harry Kane: 'I must adapt'

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane admits that he has been forced to adapt his goalscoring game following his breakthrough season.

Harry Kane has admitted that he has had to adapt his game following his breakout season with Tottenham Hotspur.

The 22-year-old broke into the first team in style last season, scoring 21 times in 34 appearances to rank behind only Sergio Aguero in the goalscoring charts.

Despite a slow start to this season, Kane is the Premier League's joint top scorer with Jamie Vardy after finding the net 19 times to put Spurs firmly in the title race.

"There was a lot of talk at the start of the season but the top players in the world find a way to get around and score 20 or 30 goals, season after season," Kane told Sky Sports News.

"I want to be one of the top strikers and I know I have to find ways to score goals that are different from last season because there is probably more attention than there was last year. Defenders get tighter this year. Whenever I get in a position to shoot, there are two or three people trying to block the shot.

"That's one of the little things I've noticed and I definitely see little differences from last season. If you want to be a player scoring goals every year in the Premier League, you have to be able to cope with that."

Kane's side sit second in the Premier League table, two points off leaders Leicester City, who have a game in hand.
