Christian Eriksen: 'Tottenham will attract players with Europa League football'

Christian Eriksen believes that the chance of playing Europa League football will attract players to Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

Christian Eriksen has expressed his belief that qualifying for the Europa League this season will help Tottenham Hotspur attract top talent in the summer transfer market.

The North London outfit are currently level on points with fifth-placed Liverpool, who have a game in hand, following Saturday's 2-2 draw with Southampton.

Despite the second-tiered European competition providing a hectic fixture schedule for all concerned, Eriksen believes that players will want to be involved.

"Is it a factor when the club are trying to sign players? I think so," the London Evening Standard quotes Eriksen as saying. "It certainly was for me when I moved from Ajax two years ago. I don't know if it is for anyone else but I think so.

"I always want to play in Europe, to be seen on that stage or in the Premier League. It was a big chance and for me it was a nice thing when I came to Tottenham."

Spurs will face Manchester City at White Hart Lane this Sunday.
