Jermaine Defoe believes that Spurs can still win the title despite the defeat to Manchester City.

Tottenham Hotspur's Jermaine Defoe has refused to concede defeat in the title race.

Spurs' title hopes were dealt a blow in the 3-2 loss to rivals Manchester City on Sunday.

However, Defoe believes that his side should still be looking up rather than down as they go into the final stretch of the season. The striker said that every game must be treated as a cup final if they are to catch Roberto Mancini's side.

"I still think we can look up the table rather than down. There are a lot of positives that we can take," said Defoe.

"City are a great team, they're top of the league and to go there is always going to be difficult. Not many teams get points at their ground.

"There's still a lot of games left, big matches for us. They're the sort of games that you want to play in. Every game from now on is going to be like a cup final."

The 29-year-old joined Spurs for his second spell at the club in 2009.
