Michael Dawson nears Tottenham Hotspur comeback

Michael Dawson could return to action next week for Tottenham Hotspur following four months on the sidelines with an Achilles tendon injury.

Spurs manager Harry Redknapp has confirmed that the defender competed in a training session yesterday and this morning, with a view to a potential comeback next week.

"He's a fantastic player," ESPN quotes Redknapp as saying. "He's back - he's not ready to play yet, we're going to get a week's training for him, and in his mind he's aiming for next week, the FA Cup. It'd be great if we can get him fit for that."

The North London side travel to Wales to face Swansea City tomorrow.
