Clinton N'Jie: 'I will be successful at Tottenham Hotspur'

Spurs youngster Clinton N'Jie is confident that time will prove he was right to swap Lyon for Tottenham Hotspur.

Clinton N'Jie has claimed that his decision to swap Champions League side Lyon for Tottenham Hotspur will be proven right in due course.

The Cameroon winger, 22, joined Spurs for a reported £10m in the summer and is expected to make his first start in Thursday's Europa League trip to AS Monaco.

N'Jie concedes that he took a risk in joining the North Londoners but, with fellow youngsters Harry Kane and Nabil Bentaleb excelling at White Hart Lane over the past 12 months, he hopes to be their latest young star.

"Like every young player, it is not easy to leave a club that is also ambitious. But I think Tottenham has very, very good ambitions too," he is quoted as saying by The Mirror.

"When Tottenham came along it was a good opportunity for me, so I just had to use the chance.

"I watch a lot of the English league, Tottenham is one of the big clubs in England and I watched them play and saw a lot of young players like Harry Kane, Erik Lamela, Nabil Bentaleb and others. That's one of the reasons to make me go — I could see how progressive Tottenham are."

N'Jie impressed off the bench in Saturday's 4-1 win over Manchester City.
