Sol Campbell doubts Tottenham Hotspur title chances

Former Tottenham Hotspur defender Sol Campbell has questioned the title credentials of Mauricio Pochettino's side.

Spurs currently sit third in the Premier League table, just five points off leaders Leicester City following their 3-0 victory over Norwich City on Tuesday night.

Campbell acknowledged that his former club were in good form, but suggested that their lack of experience when it comes to a title race could prove to be their undoing going into the home straight.

"Tottenham have been very impressive of late, but I think the same can be said of Spurs as that of Leicester - experience under pressure could be key to success. The last eight to 10 games of the season are when you really find out who you are as a player, team and a club as a whole," Campbell wrote on Sportslobster.

"At the moment they are going along fantastically well and you have to say they have given themselves a chance of winning the Premier League, but they don't have a lot of winners in their team. By that I mean they don't have players who have experienced success in a league of this quality.

"They are a young side with a lot of talent, but they might lack a player who has 'been there, done that', the sort of player who will keep everyone calm, focused and believing that anything is possible. Leicester are in the same position - as a club they have entered unknown territory and it's going to be brilliant to see if either club can hold their nerve and produce a real challenge right to the end of the season."

Spurs have not won the top-flight title since 1960-61, when they became the first side in the 20th Century to complete the double.
