New Tottenham Hotspur boss wants to win trophies

Andre Villas-Boas targets trophies

Andre Villas-Boas has revealed that he is eager to guide Tottenham Hotspur to trophies during his stint in charge at White Hart Lane.

Spurs have not won a trophy since they defeated Chelsea to win the Carling Cup back in 2008.

Despite being heavily criticised during his nine-month spell as manager of the Blues last season, Villas-Boas believes that he is the man to restore the glory days back to Spurs.

"It's not a mission of restoring my reputation," he told reporters. "It's a mission to put Tottenham back on track with titles.

"Since 2008 we haven't won anything. It's right that we take the club forward by mixing with titles and success. Hopefully I can bring that to this football club."

Earlier today Villas-Boas appointed former Spurs midfielder Steffen Freund to his coaching staff.
