Emmanuel Adebayor: "I have my life back"

Emmanuel Adebayor reveals that his loan move to Tottenham Hotspur has allowed him to get back both his life and confidence.

Emmanuel Adebayor has claimed that joining Tottenham Hotspur has allowed him to get back both his life and confidence.

The Togo international arrived at White Hart Lane on a season-long loan deal from Manchester City during the summer.

He has gone on to score five goals for Spurs, including both during their 2-0 victory over Aston Villa yesterday evening.

Despite only being with Spurs on a temporary basis, Adebayor has insisted that he will do all he can to help secure the club a place in the Champions League.

"I came here with the target to help Tottenham finish in the top four, and I think I'm doing well at the moment. If I can't help the team to get into the top four, then I have failed," the 27-year-old told reporters.

"It's always special to have a manager who gives you confidence and gives you your life back, telling you before every game to have confidence, to just enjoy your football.

"I've got my life back, I've got my confidence back. That's why even when I can't score, I try and help the team defensively."

Adebayor joined City in 2009 from Arsenal for a fee believed to be £25m.
