Mauricio Pochettino praises Tottenham Hotspur style

Mauricio Pochettino has praised his Tottenham Hotspur side for the style of their display in the 4-0 victory over Newcastle United in the League Cup quarter-finals.

After struggling to see his side adapt to his approach early in the season, Pochettino admitted that it was pleasing to watch the team continue their improvement with an emphatic win.

"We need time to improve and stamp our philosophy," the Argentine told Sky Sports News. "The players need time to change this mentality, but we are playing the right way.

"This competition is important for us and now we're through to the semi-final although we will be playing a very tough team in Sheffield [United]."

Spurs return to action in the Premier League against Burnley on Saturday.
