Danny Rose likely to be back for Tottenham Hotspur's visit of Manchester City

Mauricio Pochettino reveals that Danny Rose is likely to return at left-back in place of the injured Ben Davies for Tottenham's game with Manchester City.

Danny Rose is expected to return for Tottenham Hotspur's Premier League clash with Manchester City on Sunday.

The left-back missed last weekend's 2-2 draw with Southampton with a hamstring strain, but Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino is hopeful that he will be available for the game at White Hart Lane.

"Danny is back, he's fit and he's trained well this week," Pochettino told the club's official website. "We have one more training session remaining on Saturday to assess him again but we're happy with how he's progressed."

His return coincides with Wales international Ben Davies being ruled out for the remainder of the season with a dislocated shoulder.

Rose has largely beaten off competition from £10m summer signing Davies to make the left-back spot his own this term, making 32 appearances in all competitions and earning his first call-up to the England squad.
