Tottenham Hotspur forward Harry Kane reveals that his recovery from his ankle problem is "going well".

Tottenham Hotspur forward Harry Kane has revealed that his recovery from his ankle problem is "going well".

Kane has been on the sidelines since damaging the ligaments in his left ankle during Tottenham's 1-0 defeat to Manchester United in the Premier League last month.

The England captain has missed Tottenham's last five matches in all competitions, but he has offered an encouraging update as he bids to step up his recovery over the next week.

"It's going well. I went away for some warm weather training and we're stepping it up, [we will] see next week how we go, start to get the balls out and just see how the ankle reacts," Kane told Sky Sports News.

"It's going well so far but we have just got to take our time with it and make sure we get it right. I never put a time on any of my injuries. It is just about how it feels. The ankle feels great at the moment, so as long as the swelling stays away and we can keep progressing that would be great."

Kane, who has scored 20 times in 31 appearances for Spurs this season, could be back for the North London derby against Arsenal at Wembley in early March.
