Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte reveals that Giovani Lo Celso missed the win over Crystal Palace due to a calf injury.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte has revealed that Giovani Lo Celso missed the Boxing Day win over Crystal Palace due to a calf issue.

The Argentina international has endured a frustrating season with injuries and only has seven Premier League appearances to his name this term - two of them from the first whistle.

Lo Celso was back on the bench for the contests with Liverpool and West Ham United earlier this month, but he was nowhere to be seen in Sunday's 3-0 win against the Eagles.

Conte believes that the midfielder's injury will not keep him out for long, though, telling reporters: "It is not a serious injury, after the game against West Ham the players that didn't play had a little training and in this training he had a bit of fatigue in his calf.

"For precaution we decided to wait, especially in this situation it is important to listen to the player. When you have a problem in your calf only the player can give you the right situation."

Lo Celso has one goal and one assist to his name from 14 appearances in all tournaments this season but has not played in the Premier League since the goalless draw at Everton on November 7.
