Tottenham Hotspur team news: Injury, suspension list vs. West Ham United

Tottenham injury, suspension list vs. West Ham

The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium hosts a Premier League London derby on Thursday evening, as Spurs welcome West Ham United to their headquarters.

The Lilywhites avoided a fourth successive loss in dramatic circumstances at the weekend, drawing 3-3 with champions Manchester City thanks to a 90th-minute Dejan Kulusevski header.

However, Ange Postecoglou's men remain adrift of the Champions League spots in fifth place in the table, albeit just two points worse off than Aston Villa in fourth.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Tottenham's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their clash with West Ham, who were held to a 1-1 draw by Crystal Palace last time out.

Eric Dier

Status: Major doubt Type of issue: Muscle Possible return date: December 7 (vs. West Ham)

Tottenham did not have a single senior centre-back available for the clash with Man City, as Eric Dier pulled up with a muscular issue in training this week, and it remains to be seen whether the Englishman is cleared to return for the derby.

Rodrigo Bentancur

Status: Out Type of issue: Ankle Possible return date: Unknown

One man who will not be returning anytime soon is the unfortunate Rodrigo Bentancur, who hurt his ankle against Aston Villa two weekends ago and will spend a couple of months recovering.

Pape Sarr

Status: Out Type of issue: Unspecified Possible return date: December 15 (vs. Nottingham Forest)

Senegalese midfielder Pape Sarr will remain absent for Thursday's game due to the injury he sustained in the most recent international break, but Postecoglou has confirmed that he should be back in training towards the end of next week.

Ashley Phillips

Status: Out Type of issue: Ankle Possible return date: Unknown

Defensive protege Ashley Phillips also came back from the November hiatus with an ankle problem, and the 18-year-old will not be available for selection for a number of weeks.

Micky van de Ven

Status: Out Type of issue: Hamstring Possible return date: January 14 (vs. Manchester United)

Micky van de Ven was one of two casualties of Spurs' loss to Chelsea last month, going down in agony with a hamstring injury in the first half, and the Dutchman is targeting a return in January.

James Maddison

Status: Out Type of injury: Ankle Possible return date: January 14 (vs. Manchester United)

Likewise, James Maddison had to be withdrawn with an ankle concern in that defeat to the Blues, and as is the case with Van de Ven, a January comeback is the best case scenario for the playmaker.

Ivan Perisic

Status: Out Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: Unknown

Ivan Perisic could potentially miss the remainder of the season due to a devastating ACL injury, bringing a bitter end to his Spurs career as he prepares to depart as a free agent in 2024.

Manor Solomon

Status: Out Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: January 14 (vs. Manchester United)

Fellow winger Manor Solomon is recovering from a knee concern of his own, but the Israeli's issue is far less serious, and there is optimism that he should also be among Spurs' January returnees.

Ryan Sessegnon

Status: Out Type of injury: Hamstring Possible return date: Unknown

The same cannot be said for Ryan Sessegnon, though, as the Englishman is making slow progress in his recuperation from hamstring surgery, and Postecoglou is still unsure when he might be back at his disposal.

Alfie Whiteman

Status: Out Type of injury: Ankle Possible return date: Unknown

Fringe goalkeeper Alfie Whiteman takes up the final bed in the treatment room with an ankle injury, having broken the bone while also tearing ligaments, which will keep him sidelined for a while.

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR'S SUSPENSION LIST

Cristian Romero is available for Thursday's game having served his three-match ban, meaning that Tottenham have no players suspended for the visit of West Ham.
