Toby Alderweireld: Draw a "good result" for Tottenham Hotspur

Toby Alderweireld has said that the 1-1 draw Tottenham Hotspur collected from the first leg of their Europa League tie with Fiorentina was a "good result".

A Nacer Chadli penalty gave the visiting North Londoners the lead at the break in Florence, before Filippo Bernardeschi equalised midway through the second half.

With an away goal in their favour, centre-back Alderweireld has insisted that his side are well placed to secure their progression into the next round ahead of the return clash at White Hart Lane.

"We were very solid and it's a good result to take home with us. Now we need to finish the job at White Hart Lane," he told reporters.

Before facing the Serie A outfit next Thursday, Spurs are due to play Crystal Palace in the FA Cup on Sunday.
