Inter Milan hold a 1-0 half-time lead over Tottenham Hotspur in the second leg of their Europa League last-16 tie at the San Siro.

Inter Milan have a 1-0 half-time lead over Tottenham Hotspur in the second leg of their Europa League last-16 tie at the San Siro.

However, Spurs are still going through as it stands with a 3-1 aggregate scoreline in their favour.

The Italians made the breakthrough in the 18th minute when Antonio Cassano headed in Rodrigo Palacio's cross at the back post.

Inter nearly added to their tally midway through the half, but Palacio's lofted effort over Brad Friedel hit the crossbar.

Despite the home side's dominance in the first half, Tottenham could have snatched an away goal in first-half injury time when Emmanuel Adebayor dinked his effort over the bar with just goalkeeper Samir Handanovic to beat.
