Team News: Erik Lamela comes in for Victor Wanyama as Tottenham Hotspur make one change

Erik Lamela replaces Victor Wanyama in midfield as Tottenham Hotspur welcome AS Monaco to Wembley Stadium.

Erik Lamela has replaced Victor Wanyama in midfield as Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino makes one change to his side for the visit of AS Monaco in the Champions League.

The Argentina international is brought into the fold in an attack-minded alteration from the 4-0 win over Stoke City last weekend, with Mousa Dembele - who has been serving a domestic ban - only named on the bench.

With Danny Rose still nursing an injury, Ben Davies joins Kyle Walker at full-back, while Erik Dier and Dele Alli are tasked with manning the defensive-midfield zone for the Lilywhites.

The big news as far as the visitors are concerned is that Radamel Falcao is handed a starting spot on his return to British shores, just a few months after ending his nightmare stints with Manchester United and Chelsea.

Benjamin Mendy did not travel with the squad due to a thigh injury, meanwhile, and there is only a place on the bench for Valere Germain - still without a goal this season - as Ligue 1 leaders Monaco go in search of a sixth win on the bounce.

Tottenham will play all of their home European fixtures at Wembley Stadium this season while their own new state-of-the-art ground adjacent to White Hart Lane is being built.

Tottenham Hotspur: Lloris; Walker, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Davies; Dier, Alli; Lamela, Eriksen, Son; Kane
Subs: Vorm, Trippier, Carter-Vickers, Wanyama, Dembele, Sissoko, Janssen

AS Monaco: Subasic; Glik, Jemerson, Raggi, Sidibe; Fabinho, Bakayoko; Dirar, Moutinho, Silva; Falcao
Subs: De Sanctis, Germain, Traore, Lemar, Jean, Diallo, Toure
