Report: William Carvalho to sign new Sporting Lisbon deal

William Carvalho will reportedly reject interest from both Arsenal and Manchester United to sign a new long-term deal with Sporting Lisbon.

The Portuguese is widely regarded as one of the best midfield talents in European football, with a number of clubs linked with a move during the summer window.

It was thought that Arsenal in particular would launch a bid in January, but according to A Bola, Carvalho has revealed his desire to remain in Portugal.

The 22-year-old has been with Sporting since 2005, making his first-team debut in 2011.
