The Gilistas are 16th in the league standings, one point from safety, while the home side are sitting comfortably in midtable, occupying 12th place.

Gil Vicente have started very well under new manager Daniel Sousa, and the 3-0 victory at Portimonense is evidence that they can still compete with the better sides in the league, despite their poor league position.
