Southampton to replace Nathaniel Clyne with Cedric Soares?

Southampton are close to wrapping up a deal to sign Cedric Soares from Sporting Lisbon, according to a report.

Southampton are reportedly closing in on the signing of Sporting Lisbon defender Cedric Soares.

The Saints are expected to lose current right-back Nathaniel Clyne this summer, with Liverpool and Manchester United rumoured to be monitoring him.

Soares, who is a Portugal international, is believed to have been the subject of a £3.6m bid from fellow Premier League side Stoke City.

However, Southampton boss Ronald Koeman will beat the Potters to the 23-year-old's signature, according to The Metro.

Soares came through the ranks at Sporting and has made 79 appearances for the Portuguese giants.
