Southampton 'eyeing £5m Ngolo Kante swoop'

Southampton are reportedly keeping tabs on Caen midfielder Ngolo Kante with a view to a potential £5m summer move.

According to The Mirror, the Hampshire outfit have been impressed by the performances of Kante, 24, for Caen in Ligue 1 this season.

It is thought the Frenchman is keen on a move away from Caen, who are expected to ask for £5m for the player.

Meanwhile, it is reported that Saints may face a battle to keep hold of midfielder Victor Wanyama this summer.

A number of clubs are said to be monitoring Wanyama's situation at St Mary's.
