Southampton midfielder Adam Lallana has admitted his 'shock' at being called up to the England squad for Tuesday's clash with Ukraine.
The 24-year-old, who was called up due to illnesses suffered by Theo Walcott and Daniel Sturridge, has revealed his delight at the news.
"I didn't think the gaffer was being serious when he called to tell me this morning," Lallana told Southampton's official website.
"I was at home about to head into the training ground when he called - I must have asked if he was having me on a dozen times! I'm totally shocked to be honest."
Lallana has started all of Southampton's Premier League games so far this season.
