Southampton manager Ronald Koeman has revealed that he told his players to be patient during the half-time team talk of his side's 2-0 victory over Leicester City today.
The Saints had struggled to find a way past their opponents in the first half, but a quickfire double late on from Shane Long handed them all three points.
"It was difficult against a team who had good organisation in defence," Koeman told Sky Sports News shortly after the final whistle.
"We missed a little bit of intensity in the first half and the final pass wasn't good, but we spoke at half time to say 'keep pressing and we will create the opportunities in the second half'.
"'We have to be patient. We will score, if we keep a clean sheet for sure we will score one or two times.'"
The win was Southampton's eighth in their last nine Premier League games, and leaves them second in the table after 11 matches played.
