Nigel Adkins wants Southampton response

Nigel Adkins wants his Southampton players to bounce back from a recent defeat against Fulham tomorrow.

Southampton manager Nigel Adkins has called upon his players to bounce back from their recent loss to Sunderland when they travel to Fulham on Boxing Day.

That defeat has left the Saints only out of the relegation zone by goal difference.

As a result, Adkins has expressed his eagerness for his side to collect a positive result at Craven Cottage.

"All of the games are going to be pressurised so what we've got to make sure we do is regroup and get ourselves ready for Fulham," he told the club's official website.

"It's a game we thought that we could have won at our place so it gives us confidence going away to Fulham and being competitive to get something from the contest."

Southampton have won just once away from home this season.
