Luke Summerfield needs hernia surgery

Luke Summerfield has been told that he needs surgery on a hernia.

The Shrewsbury Town midfielder is facing three to six weeks out to recover from the operation.

The hernia kept the 25-year-old out of the League One side's win over Carlisle on Saturday.

The procedure is expected to take place early next week.

Summerfield has made 23 appearances for the club since joining from Cheltenham in the summer.
