Shrewsbury Town name Andy Morrell as assistant manager

Former Wrexham boss Andy Morrell has been named as the assistant manager of Shrewsbury Town.

Morrell only departed the Conference Premier outfit 11 days ago, but he has been handed a deal at the New Meadow until the end of the season.

The 39-year-old joins forces with former teammate Michael Jackson, who has recently been appointed as manager at the League One outfit.

Shrewsbury are currently three points from safety in the league standings.
