Scott Brown: 'England players have sense of superiority'

Brown: 'England have sense of superiority'

Scotland midfielder Scott Brown has claimed that his side's friendly clash against England means more to his side because they are determined to prove a point.

The Celtic midfielder feels that the Three Lions' squad don't care about Scottish football, and believe that they have a sense of superiority over their counterparts North of the border.

Brown has admitted that he is determined to prove Roy Hodgson's players wrong with a victory at Celtic Park.

He told reporters: "What you have to understand is how special this is to the players - how much it means to us. The truth is we know the English really don't bother about us - they couldn't care less about Scottish football - and to be perfectly honest, that pisses us off.

"To be fair to them, they might not even realise they are doing it. But they have this sense of superiority that comes with thinking how much better they are than us. And that's why we go into a game like this absolutely bursting to prove a point.

"To be perfectly honest, I think this fixture means much, much more to us than it does to the English boys."

Scotland and England face off in their friendly match later today.
