Andy Robertson: 'Gordon Strachan should stay as Scotland boss'

Scotland left-back Andy Robertson says that current boss Gordon Strachan should remain in charge despite the country's failure to qualify for Euro 2016.

Scotland left-back Andy Robertson has revealed that he wants current manager Gordon Strachan to remain in charge despite their Euro 2016 failures.

The Scots were denied a place at the tournament in France next year after coming fourth in Group D, but the Hull City defender has moved to state that Strachan should keep his place as boss of the Scottish side ahead of proposed talks with the country's FA

"He should stay, one million per cent he should stay. All the boys say that. He's the man to take us forward. He's the man to take us to a championship," said Robertson, according to BT Sport.

"I do think he will [stay on] but obviously he just needs time to think. You could hear the fans singing his name after Sunday's match with Gibraltar and there is no division in the camp.

"All the boys want him to stay and all the staff want him to stay, so it's up to him to now make his decision and hopefully it's the right one."

Strachan has been manager of Scotland since 2013.
