Brighton & Hove Albion boss Chris Hughton: 'We need to be more clinical'

Brighton & Hove Albion boss Chris Hughton urges his players to win matches more convincingly.

Brighton & Hove Albion manager Chris Hughton has lavished praise on his table-topping side following their 2-1 victory over Rotherham United in the Championship, but urged his players to start winning matches more convincingly.

The closing stages of the game were nervy for the Seagulls after Jonson Clarke-Harris pulled a goal back for the visitors, and Hughton believes that his team should have put the game to bed before then.

"We could, and perhaps should, be winning games more convincingly. That is my only disappointment," BBC Sport quotes him as saying. "At 2-0 up, we need to be managing the game better and need to be more clinical.

"We are now the only unbeaten side in the Championship and our points tally is brilliant."

The result leaves Brighton five points clear of second-placed Middlesbrough, who saw off Brentford 3-1.
