Roma eye Danny Simpson swoop?

Roma are reportedly planning a surprise move for Newcastle United defender Danny Simpson.

The 25-year-old has emerged as the Magpies' first-choice right-back in recent seasons and has already featured 12 times in the current campaign.

The Italian club are now thought to be weighing up a bid for Simpson after sending scouts to watch him play, according to talkSPORT.

Simpson, who has recently been in the news for an alleged affair with The X Factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos, joined Newcastle from Manchester United in 2010.
