Seydou Keita: 'Juventus don't scare me'

Keita: 'Juve don't scare me'

Roma midfielder Seydou Keita has dismissed suggestions that he could be intimated at the prospect of facing Juventus in what could prove to be his side's most important league game this season.

The Mali midfielder rubbished the thought that the upcoming fixture with the Bianconeri would scare him, using his time at Barcelona as evidence that he can handle the pressure.

"I have the utmost respect for them but those who have played for Barcelona aren't afraid of anyone," the 35-year-old said, according to Goal.com.

"I prepare as you do when waiting for a title-deciding game. I do not say this just for the sake of it; if we beat Juventus, the championship will be back up for grabs. If the Olimpico cheers us on, we can keep our legs in motion and we will have a good chance of winning.

"I am very passionate, sometimes to the point of fanaticism. I am already imagining what could happen if we win something."

Rudi Garcia's side have won once in their last seven league games, which has created a nine-point gap between themselves and Juventus.

A win for Roma could propel them back into the title race, whereas a defeat could dent their hopes of challenging Juve for the league.
