Rudi Garcia: 'Juventus were unique this season'

Roma manager Rudi Garcia believes that Juventus were a special case this season as they won the Serie A title and reached the 100-point mark.

Roma manager Rudi Garcia has expressed his belief that it will take a long time for any team to match the achievement of Serie A champions Juventus as they surpassed 100 points for the season.

Garcia's side finished 17 points behind Juve in second place following their defeat to Genoa on the final day of the campaign.

However, the 50-year-old is confident that his side will be competitive in the title race again next season.

He told Sky Sport Italia: "We won't see a leader like that again for a very long time, as going over 100 points is unique. Next season is a new term, we have to be concentrated and the club also wants to make a competitive squad.

"In Germany and Spain there are few teams after the first couple who can really challenge for the title or even the Champions League. In Italy there are Juventus, Roma, Napoli, Milan, Inter and Fiorentina, plus always a surprise element.

"Serie A is very competitive, so we need to make sure we are able to challenge in Serie A as well as the Champions League."

Roma's second-placed finish this season was their highest in Serie A since the 2009-10 campaign.
