Robert Pires says that a good result against Paris Saint-Germain could be the start of a great season for his local team Reims.

Reims local Roberto Pires has urged his hometown team to "do something special" against Paris Saint-Germain.

The newly-promoted side travel to the Parc des Princes tomorrow and will be cheered on by the former France international.

"If Reims can get a result at the Parc des Princes people will really sit up and take notice," Ligue1.com quotes the 38-year-old as saying.

"Maybe they'll go on to have a great season. So come on guys, I really think you can do something special at the Parc des Princes!"

Reims spent 33 years outside the French top flight.
