Sammy Ameobi could be on his way to Spain to join David Moyes

Real Sociedad manager David Moyes is reportedly interested in Newcastle United winger Sammy Ameobi.

According to the Daily Mail, Moyes wants to sign the 22-year-old when his contract runs out in the summer.

Ameobi has made nine league appearance for Newcastle this season, scoring one goal.

Moyes has previously confirmed his interest in Burnley striker Danny Ings, whose contract also expires in the summer.

Because Ameobi is under the age of 24, Newcastle are entitled to compensation if he leaves on a free, but this could be a smaller amount if he moves abroad compared to moving to an English club.
