Rayo Vallecano earn rare win

Rayo Vallecano have ended a run of six consecutive defeats by beating Real Sociedad at Estadio de Vallecas in La Liga.

Jonathan Viera scored the only goal of the game on 89 minutes, converting from the penalty spot after being fouled by Claudio Bravo.

The result prolongs Sociedad's winless run to eight games.

Jagoba Arrasate's men stay 14th in the La Liga table, while Vallecano climb off the bottom to go above Almeria.
