Steve Round: 'David Moyes will benefit from break'

Steve Round claims that Real Sociedad manager David Moyes will benefit from having taken a break from football in recent months.

Steve Round has claimed that new Real Sociedad manager David Moyes will benefit from the break he has taken in recent months.

It was confirmed earlier this week that Moyes, who has been out of a job since being sacked by Manchester United, would take over at the La Liga club, and his former assistant has backed his decision not to rush back into football.

"First and foremost I'm really pleased to see him back in. He's a tremendous manager. He's got great honesty and integrity, and he's tactically excellent," Round, who worked with Moyes at United and Everton, told members of the media.

"He was a sad loss not to be in the game, you know. After Manchester United he decided to take a break, he needed a break, he wanted to re-energise.

"He'd been in the game a long time, he's been in management for over 13 or 14 years straight, and I just think he needed to get his energy back and his enthusiasm."

Round is looking to start his own career in management, and has not joined Moyes at Sociedad.
